Commissioning

Commissioning (Cx) is a collaborative and systematic quality assurance process to verify and document that building systems perform correctly and efficiently according to the design intent, and that they meet the operational needs of the building owner and building users. Studies show that a non-commissioned building can cost between 8 and 20 percent more to operate than a commissioned building. The energy cost savings and benefits of a comprehensive building commissioning process can substantially offset and even result in immediate payback for the cost of the service. With rising energy costs and more complex building systems and controls, commissioning is steadily gaining recognition and acceptance throughout the construction industry.
